  • Watch: Kapil Sharma Trolls Himself In Hilarious New Promo For His Comeback TV Show

2017 was a tough year for Kapil Sharma with The Kapil Sharma Show going off air, his ill health and the box office failure of his second Bollywood film Firangi. But the comedy star is all set to make his comeback on Sony TV next month.

The promo of his upcoming show was shared on Sony Entertainment Television’s social media handles with the caption, “Laut kar aaraha hai Kapil sharma Sony Entertainment Television par, kuch alag lekar. Iss baar hasi ke alaava kuch aur bhi hai jo jayega dekar. Kya, kab aur kaise? Jaanne ke liye dekhte rahiye Sony Entertainment Television.

(Kapil Sharma is coming back on Sony Entertainment Television with something new. This time he will share something more than laughter. To know what, when and how keep watching Sony Entertainment Television.)

In the promo, we see Kapil squabbling with an auto rickshaw-driver who refuses to give him a ride over an unsettled debt.

The auto-driver mocks Kapil’s hapless employment status and turns away from him, before a call from Kapil’s previous channel settles the matter for good. Riding away on a bus, Kapil flashes his famous ‘babaji ka thullu’ to the guy and drops some major hints about the format of his upcoming show.

2017 was a difficult year for Kapil Sharma. A mid-air brawl with good friend Sunil Grover had resulted in a bitter fall-out followed by a casting-exodus from his show.

Later, Kapil fell prey to depression and alcoholism and perplexed his showrunners with his last-moment shooting cancellations and health concerns. Deciding to give him a much-needed break, the channel eventually withdrew ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ from the airwaves.

The year concluded with a lukewarm response to his feature film venture Firangi, which was panned for its sluggish narrative and bland humour.
