Watch: Hrithik unveils trailer of 'Mohenjo Daro'

Darpan News Desk, 20 Jun, 2016 12:56 PM
Actor Hrithik Roshan on Monday shared the trailer of his upcoming historical drama "Mohenjo Daro" on his Twitter profile.

"Welcome to the medieval world of Mohenjo Daro," he tweeted.

The attire of Hrithik's character Sarman in the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed film might remind viewers of superstar Aamir Khan's character Bhuvan from Gowariker's award-winning film "Lagaan" while it might not look fresh as people have already seen it due to the numerous pictures from the shoot already leaked.

The trailer sees Hrithik's character based in some other location, but having the tremendous urge to visit the place called Mohenjo Daro as he always feels a certain connection with the place which feels familiar. Though his character looks like a commoner, he falls in love with the character of debutant Pooja Hegde, who is a princess-like girl belonging to the elite class and they share a kiss.

The characters of Arunoday Singh and Kabir Bedi came across as the baddies. Hrithik is seen in some intense action sequences which can seem akin to those in films like "Gladiator" with battles in a large arena where people from the whole village form the audience.

The action is with swords, knives and other such equipments with Hrithik facing giant men, horses, crocodiles and floods. One of the best dialogues as seen in the trailer is Hrithik's character telling Kabir Bedi's character is that the difference them is "you want to rule over Mohenjo Daro but I want to serve it".

Giving an idea about the plot, the voiceover says: "Sarman only you can save Mohenjo Daro from destruction".

The film is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Disney's Siddharth Roy Kapur and also stars Suhasini Mulay and Manish Choudhary among others.
