Vishal Dadlani Warns Musicians To Not Remix Shekhar And His Songs: Make Your Own Songs, Vultures

  • Vishal Dadlani Warns Musicians To Not Remix Shekhar And His Songs: Make Your Own Songs, Vultures

Vishal Dadlani has threatened to sue what he called “vultures’’, who dare to remix his Shekhar Ravjiani and his songs.

Vishal has issued a warning that he will go to court if any of their songs are remixed without their permission, due credit or remuneration.

In a post on Twitter, the composer wrote: “Warning: I WILL sue anyone making remixes of Vishal & Shekhar songs. I’ll even move court against the films & musicians. After ‘Saaki Saaki’, I hear upcoming bastardisations include ‘Dus Bahaane’, ‘Deedaar De’, ‘Sajnaji Vaari Vaari’, ‘Desi Girl’ & more. Make your own songs, vultures!.”

He continued: “Warning. Do NOT remix Vishal and Shekhar songs without our permission, due credit & remuneration. I will come for you hard, legally. Especially the musicians doing it. This will become very, very personal, even if you are a friend.”

The post received hilarious and witty comments with one of them from filmmaker Anubhav Sinhaa, who wrote that two of the upcoming remixes were from his films. He wrote: “Two are mine. Will send you bank details.”

Singer and music composer Armaan Malik came out in support of Dadlani.

Retweeting, Vishal's post, Armaan wrote: “love your guts to do this. Only if people like you stand up against these things, will the scene ever change. More power to you ????”

Another Twitter user brought to Vishal's notice that music composer Ilaiyaraja has been fighting the same battle for a long time.

To which, Vishal replied: “I will call Ilaiyaraja Sir & thank him. @ArmaanMalik22 & @Its_Badshah Have already tweeted their support & @AmaalMallik has spoken with me at length. Anandjibhai & Pyaarebhai have always shared this sentiment too, in private chats. Let's see.”

Vishal and Shekhar's item number, ‘Saaki’ from the 2004, ‘Musafir’ was recreated in ‘Batla House’.
