Vishal Dadlani Meets Jain Monk Tarun Sagar To Apologise, Says 'We Are Friends Now'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Sep, 2016 01:00 PM
  • Vishal Dadlani Meets Jain Monk Tarun Sagar To Apologise, Says 'We Are Friends Now'
Bollywood music composer Vishal Dadlani met Jain monk Tarun Sagar here on Wednesday and apologised to him in person for his sarcastic tweet on the spiritual figure that had stirred up a controversy last month. He said they are friends now.

Dadlani visited the Jain monk at his ashram here and apologised to him. In fact, in an image shared on the social media, Dadlani is seen holding his ears for forgiveness, and he is seen laughing away.

To that, Dadlani even tweeted: "I don't know why they can't see us laughing too! It was actually one of the best meetings ever. What a cool guy."

While speaking to the media here, he said: "Guruji accepted my apology, he has forgiven me and I think we've also developed a bond of friendship... Me as a human being, I seek apology, because I feel what I said doesn't reflect well on me and doesn't suit him at all.

"I have realised a lot about myself in the last 10 days. I have come here as I have had an an eye-opening experience."

Last month, Dadlani had offended the sentiments of Jains across the world, describing Sagar (a member of the Digambar sect that does not wear clothes) as "some naked monk," and his act of not wearing clothes, as "colossal idiocy."

Dadlani, who has been one of the most visible activists of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for quite some time now, had to soon bow down to pressure from Jains, AAP and Twitterati, and he announced to quit all active political work/affiliation.
