Vishakha Singh Wants 'Reasonable Amount' To Act

Darpan News Desk IANS, 16 Mar, 2015 11:45 AM
  • Vishakha Singh Wants 'Reasonable Amount' To Act
Actress Vishakha Singh, who was noticed for her role in the hit film "Fukrey", rues how new artistes in the film industry are sometimes expected to work for free. She says her demand is just a "reasonable amount".

She claims she has been offered many movies since "Fukrey", but she didn't take them as they were not exciting enough.

"After 'Fukrey', I got offers for about 40-50 films, but sometimes the story didn't excite me, sometimes the director's vision didn't match, sometimes the roles didn't excite me," the 28-year-old said here in an interview.

Talking about pay scale, she said: "I think there should be a reasonable amount for an artist, no matter the artist is a star or not. Just because the artist is new, so many times people expect the artist to work for free, which is something I don't believe in. That's why I refused films but I don't regret."

Vishakha has also been seen in "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey", but she has no Hindi film in her kitty as of now. She has been busy doing films down south.
