Vidhu Vinod Chopra turns lyricist with 'Wazir'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Dec, 2015 01:51 PM
Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has penned down lyrics of a song titled "Tere bin", which will be featured in his forthcoming production venture “Wazir”.

He says the source of inspiration for the romantic number was his wife Anupama Chopra.

According to sources close to the film, when Chopra was working on the lyrics of the song he had his wife in his thoughts constantly and kept writing until he finished the song and was satisfied with how it came out.

“Vinod, who writes poetries, came up with the lyrics while he was in the zone and working with the music composer Shantanu. After finishing the song, Vinod first recited the song to his wife,” said a source.

“I wasn’t meant to write the lyrics initially, however when Shantanu was working on the melody of the song on a piano, I kept mouthing words and by the time we finished, we realised that one whole song had been created beautifully. At the end, everyone said that the song should remain as it is,” Chopra said in a statement.

“Tere bin” features the lead pair of the film - Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari.

"Wazir" also features Amitabh Bachchan and John Abraham in key roles.

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the movie presents Farhan as an ATS officer. Big B plays the role of a physically disabled man with a sharp brain and Aditi is seen as Farhan's love interest.

"Wazir", co-produced by Chopra, is slated to release on January 8 next year.
