Twitterati Pans Gavaskar Over 'Is She Here' Poser To Kohli

  • Twitterati Pans Gavaskar Over 'Is She Here' Poser To Kohli
Cricket legend and commentator Sunil Gavaskar on Saturday found himself at the wrong end of the social media over his act of asking Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli "is she here" in an apparent reference to his actress girlfriend Anushka Sharma.

During the toss for Royal's match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens here, Gavaskar asked Kohli: "Is she here". A seemingly blushing Kohli replied: "Yes, she would be", amid a loud cheer from a near capacity crowd.

While the Eden crowd might have enjoyed the moment, Gavaskar found himself getting panned on twitter over the issue.

"Gavaskar asking Kohli. One last question. Is she here? (Anushka). That's when you start thinking how much you miss ppl like Richie Benaud," twitted Shashank Thala.

"@IPL don't understand why Sunny Gavaskar asked @imVkohli about Anushka that if she is here #disgusting," said another.

Tweets like "What was that Mr Gavaskar??? Didn't expect classless question from you, and "Et tu, Mr. Gavaskar? #shocker", flooded the micro-blogging site.

Just a day earlier, Kohli, the Indian Test captain had lashed out at people for blaming his beau over Indian team's exit from the recently concluded cricket World Cup.

"The stuff that happened after the World cup semifinal, the way people reacted towards my personal life and Anushka in particular, was really disrespectful. I want put this out in public because at the human level I was really hurt and wanted to express that for a quite a long time," Kohli had said during the pre-match press conference Friday.
