'Tum Bin 2' won't suffer due to demonetisation: Anubhav Sinha

  • 'Tum Bin 2' won't suffer due to demonetisation: Anubhav Sinha
Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha says he is facing issues as far as cash is concerned in his personal life, but he is sure his forthcoming release "Tum Bin 2" won't suffer due to the demonetisation move by the government.

"Like any commoners, I am affected by demonetisation, but I am hopeful about my film. It won't suffer at the box office. As a major amount has been recovered, now I am looking forward to a good weekend collection," Sinha told IANS.

"Tum Bin 2", produced by T-Series, is releasing on Friday. It is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 14.5 crore, including the cost of production as well as print and publicity. Interestingly, the film is said to have already recovered Rs 12 crore from its music, satellite and digital rights sale.

So, recovering the remaining amount, is not a big task for the producers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has affected ticket sales of movies.

Asked about his opinion about the government's decision, Sinha said: "I don't have enough knowledge to comment on that, or analyse the bigger picture. However, like common people, I am also facing problem with hard cash and note exchange."

"Tum Bin 2" features newcomers Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati.

The film also features actors, singers and media presenters Raj and Pablo -- often called the Bollywood ambassadors for Britain -- in the song "Hindustani Girl". They are "extremely delighted with the innovative collaboration".

"We have known Anubhav Sinha for a few years now and think highly of his prolific filmmaking penchant. 'Tum Bin 2' offered us the ideal platform to strategically align our global brand that we have painstakingly shaped over a period of time with legacy that the film already enjoys," they said in a joint statement.
