Try banning illegal Indian film DVDs In Pakistan: Rishi Kapoor to PEMRA

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Nov, 2016 11:33 AM
  • Try banning illegal Indian film DVDs In Pakistan: Rishi Kapoor to PEMRA
Rishi Kapoor has spoken against the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) after it enforced a blanket ban on Indian content in Pakistan. The veteran actor wonders how illegal Indian film DVDs will be banned there.

"Think. PEMRA Bandh karwaya Indian content apne channels aur theatres mein! Zara bandh kar ke dikha illegal DVDs Indian films ke? (PEMRA, you have shut down Indian content from channels and theatres. Try to ban the illegal Indian film DVDs?)" Rishi tweeted on Monday night.

"PEMRA Jhagda siyasati aur politicians ka hai. Dil ki baaton par pabandiyan lagana galat hai. Hamara bhi jhagda ye hi hai yahaan. Just chill (PEMRA, the fight is political. Banning matters of the heart is wrong. We too are fighting for the same thing here.)"

The 64-year-old star said the multiplex industry in Pakistan could suffer without showing Indian content.

"PEMRA. Pakistan has around 85/100 multiplexes and if they don't have content to exhibit, think how much of loss is incurred? Why punish them? Can understand your knee jerk reaction of banning Indian content. But asliyat to Ye hai dono mulk illegally dekh rahe hain. Sochna (The truth is that both countries are watching the content illegally. Think)," he said.

I think I become what I am not through acting. I did a princely role in 1979. I was from a lower middle class family. I was filled with inferiority complex, was very introvert. Everybody refused to look at me, girls used to never give me attention.
