The 'Unpredictability' In Kalki Koechlin's Film Career

IANS, 27 May, 2016 01:19 PM
Actress Kalki Koechlin, who tries to bring diverse roles on the celluloid and has been appreciated for her work in "Waiting", says sometimes she feels that she is never going to get a good script again.

"Sometimes, I am very happy, and sometimes I feel I am never going to get a good script again. It's unpredictable and it's different. But I think there is a lot of good content which has come out in the last three years," Kalki told IANS.

"I have seen some brilliant films, and I have been lucky to work with some diverse directors," she added.

The actress, who is active in the world of theatre and films, has been lauded for her performance in movies like "Dev.D", "Shaitan" and "That Girl in Yellow Boots".

Asked how difficult it is for an outsider to survive in showbiz. Kalki said: "I think it's as difficult as anything else. There are people from the industry who are not getting too much work, but with actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, I think there is space for all actors."

"I feel it's purely based on talent."

In her latest release "Waiting", Kalki shares screen space with seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah.

Talking about working with him, she said: "When I did '...Yellow Boots', I was far more scared of him and far more in awe of him. I remember that I used to forget my lines. This time, I was way more prepared and I knew him from theatre, so we got on really well."

"We have got a good emotional connect and there was a mutual respect for each other."
