Swara Bhaskar Wants To Do A Biopic On Indira Gandhi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 16 Jul, 2016 12:58 PM
Actress Swara Bhaskar says that she would want to do a biopic on a historical character and feels that former Prime Minister of the country Indira Gandhi will be an amazing character to do a biopic on.

"I would definitely want to do a biopic on a historical character. I feel that in the history of India, Indira Gandhi is quite an interesting character and now the situation is apt to do this biopic. I think Indira Gandhi is an amazing character from the point of view of an actor and a film."

"I am a typical actor and typical actors are greedy, so if I get a good role in any good, credible film then I will definitely do it," Swara said on the sidelines of an event for the brand Woolmark.

Gandhi is India's only female Prime Minister till date. Her reign was controversial due to the imposition of the emergency in the mid-'70s.

Swara's friend and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" co-star Sonam Kapoor's recent biopic "Neerja" on brave air hostess Neerja Bhanot had done well critically and commercially.

About her other projects, Swara said, "My next film 'Anarkali Aaravali' will hopefully release by the end of the year and I am going to start the shoot of 'Veere Di Wedding' with Kareena (Kapoor Khan), Sonam and Shikha Talsania which has been produced by Ekta Kapoor ji and Rhea Kapoor ji."

Swara is dating her "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" writer Himanshu Sharma. Regarding her own wedding plans, she said, "No, there is no plan of a wedding in real life. I have a lot of work, I have to prep for 'Veere Di Wedding', and shoot for a web series, so I don't have the time to get married."

Swara's last film "Nil Battey Sannata" was critically acclaimed.
