Model-turned-actress Sushmita Sen, who won the Miss Universe crown in 1994, Thursday celebrated 20 years of the crowning with cancer patients. She said she wanted to spend the day with those who know how to live life.
"I want to thank my country because it's a huge honour for me to have represented my country 20 years back and had that opportunity," Sushmita told reporters at the event.
"Time has flown, I was 18 when I won it. I wanted to celebrate these 20 years with people who truly believe what it is like celebrating life. I wanted to celebrate it with kids who teach us to be brave and celebrate life each moment. 100 kids have come here from CPAA (Cancer Patients Aid Association)," added the star of films like "Biwi No. 1" and "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya".
CPAA has been there since 1967 and it gives medical treatment to children suffering from cancer.
