Simran Sidhu, resident of Surrey, has been named the winner of the OMNI reality competition show, Bollywood Star.

The 25-year-old had to travel to Goa, India in order to audition in front of Bollywood director Nishikant Kamat, who directed the John Abraham starrer Force.

In a news release OMNI stated that Sidhu was born in Abu Dhabi and moved to Pune, India with her family when she was 3. Ten years ago the family relocated to Surrey.

This talented female is part of Bollywood choreographer and singer, Shiamak Davar's dance troupe and also performed at the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards that were held in Toronto, and the 2013 Times of India Film Awards that took place in Vancouver.

Bollywood Star, is a show where performers across Canada auditioned in Vancouver and Toronto for a chance to compete for a role in Bollywood.

The panel of judges comprised- director Richie Mehta, actor Rupinder Nagra, and actress Anita Majumdar, narrowed down the myriad contestants to 16 and then to six. These were flown to Bollywood's own town Mumbai, for a Bollywood boot camp and then to the final four.
