Singer Neeti Mohan, who will be seen as a mentor on the forthcoming singing reality show “The Voice India Kids”, says Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan wished her luck for her new journey on TV.
There have been multiple reports stating that Sunidhi, who was seen as a coach on “The Voice India”, asked for a fee hike to appear on the children's version of the show, leading the makers to replace her with Neeti.
Asked about the same, Neeti, who was here on Wednesday to promote the show, told IANS: “No I'm not aware of this thing, but as far as I was told - last year the judges were Sunidhi, Himesh Reshammiya, Mika Singh, and Shaan.
“But this year they wanted a new panel. They could have only retained one judge and others had to be new. In fact, Sunidhi wished me luck, and said, 'Have a good time on the show'.”
Neeti, best known for her hit songs like “Jiya re”, “Bang bang”, “Saadi galli aaja”, will be seen on “The Voice India Kids” alongside Shekhar Ravjiani and Shaan, who will return as a coach from “The Voice India”.
“This is the very first time that I'm coming on show as a judge and the best part about it is that you are not the one who will be judging the show, instead you are a mentor, a coach for the kids,” Neeti said.
She said the premise of the show is about lending a "healthy atmosphere" to the children, where they just simply enjoy the music.
The show, which is an Indian version of the internationally acclaimed reality format “The Voice”, will be aired on &TV starting from July 23.
