Style Icon Tag Happened By Default: Deepika Padukone

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Aug, 2015 12:30 PM
"Cocktail" star Deepika Padukone says the 'style icon' tag associated with her is something that happened by default.

Asked about what it meant to her to be a style icon, Deepika said: "I think for me, it just happened by default. I just have amazingly talented people who work and put it together for me and make me look the way I do. I don't think I can take credit for that."

Deepika has often stated that her mother Ujjala is her style icon and she reiterated that at an event which she attended to launch an eyewear brand collection.

"I don't think she knows about it. She's had a big influence on my life. It (dressing) was always simple, minimalistic. She would always stick to white, blue and pastel shades. Even accessorizing was very minimal. That's why my mum (style icon)," shared the 29-year-old.

Having started out as a model, the manner in which she carries her style has always been appreciated by fans and the industry. But still, she thinks that she's incapable of styling someone else.

"I don't think I know enough about fashion to be styling other people. If anything, I think there are a lot of people out there who can style me," said Deepika.
