SRK's 'Dilwale' goes global via digital route

Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Feb, 2016 02:03 PM
  • SRK's 'Dilwale' goes global via digital route
Yearning to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's fun-filled ride in “Dilwale”? Take the virtual route as Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd will be bringing the movie for home viewing across all major platforms on transnational basis, where consumers can own a digital copy or pay for a viewing.

After the theatrical release of “Dilwale” across 60 countries, the Rohit Shetty-directorial became available on iTunes and Google Play last month, and it will soon make way to other platforms like DTH, DVD, Blue Ray and every other major home entertainment platform, read a statement.

With the aim to cater to a wider audience, the film is being made available across all major territories with local sub-titles. And even television partner Sony is doing True Video On Demand to capitalise on this window.

According to the statement, the move is significant as it allows the film to cater to fans in countries where theatrical release is not feasible due to various reasons as “Dilwale” is being made available to them six weeks after theatrical window.

"Dilwale" brought back SRK and Kajol together on the silver screen after a gap of five years with a story laced with action, rib-tickling comedy and romance. It also features Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma.
