Sonakshi Sinha Open To Pursuing Fashion Designing In Future

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Dec, 2015 02:22 PM
  • Sonakshi Sinha Open To Pursuing Fashion Designing In Future
Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who started her career as a costume designer, says that she is open to explore fashion designing as a profession in the future.

"Not now, but in the future. Never say never. I have studied fashion designing so I feel I can pursue it in the future," said Sonakshi, when asked if she intended to turn fashion designer. She walked the ramp in a J.J. Valaya outfit at the Blender's Pride Fashion Tour 2015.

Sonakshi, who did her fashion designing course from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University (SNDT) here, reminisced being ushered in as a volunteer for fashion weeks where she would be waiting to watch Valaya's show.

The "Dabangg" actress also said that she felt like a "princess" because of the "beautiful" outfit.

"J.J. Valaya is somebody who's always been so creative. He blends a lot of beautiful worlds into the threads that he weaves. Beautiful colours, so wearable that my mother, who was sitting in the front row, said, 'Such great clothes were on display'. It's something that I would love to wear and something that somebody of her age would like to wear," she said.

Sonakshi said that she feels "delighted" whenever her mother Poonam accompanies her to fashion shows.

"I feel very delighted when she accompanies me and she does that for almost all shows because she really likes watching me walk on the ramp. She feels really proud. So whenever I come for a fashion show, I ask her, 'Do you want to come?' and she says, 'Of course, I want to come'. She's my biggest support," she said.

Walking on the ramp is not a new area for Sonakshi, considering that she has walked for the biggest fashion and jewellery events over the years such as Lakme Fashion Week, Indian International Jewellery Week, HDIL Couture Week, among other shows.

"I'm extremely happy to be walking on the ramp here. I've walked (the ramp) several times and I feel good and also I do feel confident as your experience in the industry goes on increasing. When somebody is new, they can fumble a bit. But I'm pretty confident that I can do it and I enjoy it," she said.

Sonakshi was last seen on the silver screen in director Amit Sharma's "Tevar" earlier this year and she also sizzled in an item number in the romantic comedy-drama film "All Is Well".
