Actress Sonakshi Sinha is proud of all the Indian sportspersons representing the country at the ongoing Rio Olympics. She hopes they all win big.
Sonakshi, who has featured in action scenes in her upcoming film “Akira”, added that all Indian participants at the Olympics are “fierce, bold and determined”.
“You never give up your goals and you are going to do us proud. Here's extending my wishes to all the Indian athletes at the 2016 Olympics."
"We are proud that you are representing our motherland at this prestigious sporting event. I wish the entire contingent the very best. Win for India,” Sonakshi said in a statement.
The contingent comprising 118 sportspersons in 15 disciplines, is the largest to represent India at the Olympic Games.
India won six medals at the London Olympics in 2012.
On the work front, Sonakshi will be seen doing some intense action sequences in “Akira”.
Presented by Fox Star Studios, “Akira” is directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who had previously directed Sonakshi in the film "Holiday".
"Akira" sees Sonakshi's character coming to Mumbai from Jodhpur, where she gets into a tiff with the goons of the college she enrolls in. The story is about her fight to come out of a case in which the goons and corrupt police officials play crucial roles.
The film, also starring Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sen Sharma, will release on September 2.
