Soha Ali Khan Not Ready To Join Politics

Darpan News Desk IANS, 30 Sep, 2016 01:14 PM
  • Soha Ali Khan Not Ready To Join Politics
Actress Soha Ali Khan says she has no plans to join politics as politicians have to "sacrifice a lot".

"As a citizen, I think about the future of my country. I have seen every situation. I don't think I want to join politics... you have to sacrifice a lot in politics and an actor's life is opposite," Soha said.

"You have a private life and you are not answerable to anyone. As a politician, you are a public servant and you are answerable to many people. It involves a lot of sacrifices, so I am not ready for it right now," she added.

Talking about films, she said that not every movie can be a "Rang De Basanti" -- the 2006 blockbuster helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

She said: "I have done a lot of powerful films, but I feel not every film will be 'Rang De Basanti'. It's not that all the films that I do is to give any message. 'Rang De Basanti' was the turning point in my career.

"'Khoya Khoya Chand' was very precious for me as an actress."

Soha will now be seen in "31st October". She says the forthcoming film is already a landmark for her.

Also starring Vir Das, "31st October" is based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination and its repercussions. Soha and Vir essay a Sikh couple in the movie, which will hit the screens on October 7.
