Singer Sonu Nigam says that social media platform come as a blessing in the digital world today.

"In today's time where everything is going digital, social media comes as a blessing. It's always good to connect with fans. Social media has reduced the gap between fans and their idols and that's a good thing," he told IANS.

Meanwhile, Sonu who will also be seen as a judge for the reality show Indian Idol Season 9 says he is extremely honest when it comes to judging the show.

"I am deeply honoured that people have given me so much love for over 2 decades now. I thank the almighty for the same and I try my level best along with my co-judges to choose the finest talent our country has to offer. It's a big responsibility but it's something I thoroughly enjoy as well," he said.

"Reiterating what I've said above, being a judge is a big responsibility as thousands of hopefuls participate on Indian Idol. As a judge it's my duty to be honest to my responsibility and choose the most deserving candidate," added Nigam.
