  • Shravan Rathod of the hit music duo Nadeem-Shravan passes away due to COVID19

Renowned music composer of the famous Nadeem-Shravan duo passed away due to COVID19 Thursday evening at the age of 66. 

The news of Shravan Rathod passing away was shared by his son Sanjeev Rathod. Shravan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai a few days after he contracted COVID19 and was also dealing with heart problems. 

Nadeem mourned the loss of his music partner with insurmountable grief and deep sorrow  “I am in deep pain as I say this but my friend and my companion, my partner of so many years is no more. It has left such a vacuum. I spoke to his son who was inconsolable. We had been in touch on a regular basis for the last several days when Shravan complained of ill-health and had to be moved to a hospital. Shravan’s wife and son are also not well and are still in the hospital".

Bollywood and the Indian music industry as a whole took to social media to express their sadness over the singer's demise. Singers  Pritam, Shreya Ghoshal, Salim Merchant, Adnan Sami all took to Twitter to share messages of loss and offered their condolences. Actor Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn also shared posts on social media over Shravan's passing away. 

The dynamic duo Nadeem-Shravan go the life changing experience that they were waiting for in the 90s through the film Aashiqui. After being recognized for Aashiqui there was no looking back for them as it was one hit song after another.

Saajan, Sadak and Phool Aur Kaante the next year. Albums such as Deewana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Raja, Agni Sakshi, Jeet, Pardes and Raja Hindustani followed.

The music jodi called it quits in 2005.
