Shiv Pandit bags role in 'Meet The Patels'

  • Shiv Pandit bags role in 'Meet The Patels'
Actor Shiv Pandit, who became popular via TV show "F.I.R." and was appreciated for his work in the movie "Shaitan", will be seen in a key character in the forthcoming film "Meet The Patels". He is excited about the "clean comedy".

To be directed by Saurabh Varma, the film is based in Mumbai and is about two Gujarati boys Tom Patel and Jerry Patel, who know how to live life to the fullest and would do anything except hard work.

Shiv will play the "odd" Tom, while another actor will be roped in soon to play Jerry.

“I loved the script that had me in splits during the narration. Also, I am a big fan of the clean comedy genre, something I have not tried before on the big screen, Shiv said in a statement.

Varma, who earlier directed Manish Paul in "Mickey Virus", says he chose Shiv because of his comic timing in "F.I.R.".

In the hugely popular show, Shiv was seen playing Chief Inspector Hanuman Prasad Pandey.

It is because of that role that Shiv has been cast as a quirky character in "Meet The Patels".

“Shiv Pandit has been a great choice for the film and we feel he has the range to portray the comic shades of the lead character with aplomb," said Raj Mallik, vice president (production) of Krian Media, the producers of the film.

The film goes on the floors Nov 1 and will be released on April 24, 2014.
