Shilpa Shetty returns to Kannada films after 18 yrs with 'KD - The Devil'

Mumbai, March 22 (IANS) Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra is all set to make a comeback in Kannada films after almost 18 years with the upcoming film 'KD- The Devil'.
Shilpa took to Instagram to announce the news on Ugadi.
Wrote the actress, who was born in Karnataka: "On this auspicious day of new beginnings, I'm thrilled to share with you a new character entering the war in KD's battlefield as Satyavati."
Shilpa made her acting debut with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Baazigar' in 1993. 'KD', directed by Prem of 'Kariya' fame, is yet another gangster film in Kannada.
The period action film is said to be based on the events that took place in Bengaluru in the 1970s. It also stars Dhruva Sarja, V Ravichandran and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, on the Bollywood front, Shilpa has 'Indian Police Force', an upcoming Hindi language cop action drama streaming series.
The series is created and directed by Rohit Shetty. It also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi in the lead. The series is set in Shetty's fictional Cop Universe.
Set in 1930s, 'Qala' is about the tumultuous relationship between an aspiring singer and her domineering mother. The film stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, and Babil Khan in his film debut.
During the live show on Roposo, when the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director was asked who can portray his part best in his biopic, he said: "I think Ranveer Singh. He is like a chameleon, and he will do his best."
A senior officer of the department confirmed this while requesting anonymity said that one of the three farmhouses belonged to singer Daler Mehndi and was built on about 1.5-acre land.
On November 23, Anupam Kher, lead actor in this movie, speaking about the 'The Kashmir files' had said that it helped people all over the world to be aware of the tragedy that happened to Kashmiri Pandits community in 1990s.
Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who is known for the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Pink' also talks about his film which is inspired by many incidents that he saw in his life. He is quite happy with the response the movie got at IFFI.

The beginning of December brings another unusual treat — An Action Hero, which features Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time in an action role, this is followed by massy entertainers like Cirkus and Ganapath featuring Ranveer Singh and Tiger Shroff respectively. With such an eclectic range of films, there is no doubt that 2022 is going to conclude on a good note.
