Shekhar Kapur in search of 'strong producer' for 'Paani'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 12 Nov, 2015 11:28 AM
Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, best known for his award-winning films like “Masoom”, “Mr. India”, “Bandit Queen” and “Elizabeth”, says he wants a “strong producer" with a global approach for his most ambitious project “Paani”.

Kapur talked about the project on Twitter when filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra showed his anxiety to watch the film.

“#paani ... Waiting for the maestro to begin 'Paani',” Mehra posted on the micro-blogging site while sharing a tweet of World Economic Forum's news about world's top climate concerns.

To that, Kapur replied: “To do 'Paani' in India, I need a really strong producer with a global vision and who believes in what the film is about.”

The science fiction film has been shelved many times due to several reasons. The music of “Paani” is being given by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.
