Shashi Was There: Anushka Sharma's Phillauri Take On Oscars 2017 Goof-up Is A Genius Marketing Move

  • Shashi Was There: Anushka Sharma's Phillauri Take On Oscars 2017 Goof-up Is A Genius Marketing Move
Anushka Sharma might have put her brilliant mind to gift us a great and lovable film like Phillauri. The trailer has got the nation talking and trust Anushka to do things differently. Her Pr team is planning some of the best marketing moves.

Remember the huge goof up that happened at Oscars this year? They announced the name of the wrong winner for the Best Film category and gave it to La La Land before they realised the actual winner was Moonlight. And by then, the entire La La Land team was on stage, finishing their speeches. Ouch!

But do you know apart from the two teams, who was on the Oscar stage? Anushka Sharma! Don't believe us? Check this image!

This 'SHASHI WAS THERE' campaign is perfectly timed and very tongue in cheek. It's something that you call genius of an idea and we totally loved it. Bravo, team Phillauri!

For the uninitiated, presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway wrongly announced Damien Chazelle’s La La Land as the winner for the Best Picture category instead of Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight. In fact the team of the former film had already been up on stage and started their speech which was when the presenters realized their mistake and soon announced Moonlight as the winner.

Meanwhile, this is what Diljit had to add: "Bechari jisko Best Actress mila uska face, uske expression toh aise the ki galti ho gayi unse kitni badi (the Best Actress winner's expression was like that of someone who has made a huge mistake)," said Diljit.

Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai #ShashiWasThere 👻
