Shiamak is known to produce the best dancers in the country. Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is the biggest example who trained under Shiamak before venturing into Bollywood. Following his foot steps, Shahid’s younger brother Ishaan has gone through one year of intensive training at Shiamak’s dance school.

Sitting in the audience alongside Shiamak and his mother Neelima, Shahid clapped along and was teary eyes reliving his dance days. The biggest moment for him was when Shiamak announced Ishaan as the most ‘promising students of that batch of 2013-14’, an award that he himself won years back from Shiamak. ‘Wow, I’m extremely emotional right now. It reminded me of the years I’ve been with Shiamak. I had tears in my eyes throughout the show, I missed my dancing days with Shiamak. Ishaan danced in the show. They are just so lucky to learn from Shiamak. I’ve seen Ishaan growing and i’ve seen his transform, evolve and change not only in dance but also body and attitude. With Shiamak, it’s not only about dance but the spirit. I feel proud and humbled at the same time.’ said Shahid.

‘Shahid is a huge star today but i’m so proud of him because who always come back to the dance school to give back. Honestly, Shahid’s potential is phenomenal and the world has still not seen it!’ said Shiamak.

‘They both have such similar energies; I can see the spark in Ishaan already. From the time the program started he has worked extremely hard and his performance in the show was proved it’ Shiamak said. The graduation show called METAAL was a Shiamak Style contemporary show that had seventy five students who got trained in Shiamak Style, Ballet, Modern, contemporary, Hip Hop, Latin, film & linguistics, backstage and production by well known experts from the likes of Shiamak himself, Tushna Dallas, Viveck Vaswani, Hermann Benjaminn, Mehera Kolah and international teachers from around the world. Ishaan who has been Shiamak’s student for years got selected for this program from thousands of auditioners from around the world and emerged as the most promising student.

Shiamak surprised Shahid as he gave an impromptu award to Shahid as his most promising student ever! As the two broke into a hug, the audience was on their feet clapping and cheering for this guru shishya duo.

So now that Ishaan is dancing in Shahid’s shoes, Shiamak is already getting one more star ready for Bollywood!

Old is gold in Bollywood!
I wonder why filmmakers shy away from narrating tales about elderly people with senior actors in the lead roles. Well-narrated stories revolving around ripe old age have takers, but such efforts are few and far between.
