Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ Opens At USD 3.4 Million Overseas

    Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol-starrer “Dilwale” has stormed the international box office charts with the film earning USD 3.4 million on its opening day.
     
    The Rohit Shetty-directed film, which brings back the iconic pairing of SRK-Kajol after five years, has registered biggest ever opening for any Bollywood film in UAE and is running to packed housed over the weekend, said a release from Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
     
    “Dilwale” has raced ahead of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, which released this week in Dubai and is credited as one of the most popular Hollywood franchises ever.
     
    Similar response has been echoed in UK, US and other parts of the world.
     
    The action drama has become the year’s biggest ever opener for Bollywood films in UK.
     
    It has entered the UK Top 10 Box Office Charts at No 2 position, a feat rarely achieved by Hindi films.
     
    In the US, people have poured in large numbers to watch SRK-Kajol reunite on screen and “Dilwale” has secured the 9th position in the US box office charts.
     
    In Malaysia, “Dilwale” has registered the biggest ever opening for any Hindi film.
     
    The film has secured the No 2 spot in New Zealand box office charts and in Australia, “Dilwale” has not only become the biggest opener of 2015, but also the biggest ever for SRK starrers.
     
    “Dilwale” has so far collected Rs 41.09 crore in India
