Reports say the political backlash that Karan Johar is facing after the MNS threat, is the reason behind Fawad Khan being dropped as the first guest on Koffee With Karan 5.
 
Just days before, it was a merry-making time for the fans of Fawad Khan.
 
Reports had surfaced that Karan Johar had picked the Pakistani actor instead of his favourite, Shah Rukh Khan, as the first guest on the upcoming season of Koffee With Karan. But all hell broke lose when Fawad and other Pakistani artists found themselves under fire after the Uri attack and MNS asking them to leave India.
 
 
Fawad had become the apple of Karan Johar’s eyes ever since his performance in Dharma film, Kapoor & Sons that went on to become one of this year’s biggest hits. 
 
So much was Fawad’s ever-increasing fan following that the screen time of his guest appearance in Karan’s upcoming directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was increased and Fawad even found place in the film’s promos and songs.
 
 
Next we heard that he has also been signed with Katrina Kaif for Dharma’s next. But, following the recent Uri attack, and MNS on Friday giving a 48-hour warning to all Pakistani artists to leave India, things took a U-turn.
 
 
MNS went on to directly target Karan and SRK, who have their upcoming projects lined up with Pakistani stars Fawad and Mahira Khan respectively. Even yesterday a MNS leader said, “We dare Karan. Let him take a Pakistani artist, see what we will do then.”
