Actress Sonam Kapoor, known for speaking her mind without any fear, says using religion or caste as a dividing factor is not only "unacceptable" but appalling as well.
The actress was here on Wednesday to promote her forthcoming film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (PRDP) along with superstar Salman Khan.
Sonam came to Salman's rescue when the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" star was bombarded with questions on the ongoing political furore over "growing intolerance" comments by Shah Rukh Khan.
She took the mike to answer on Salman's behalf, giving a glimpse of her trademark brazen honesty. "I will answer that question. I think it will be better if I answer that question...
"Anything that is intolerant or anything that is said without correct evidence is completely unacceptable. So people just saying things in the name of religion, class, creed is totally disgusting," she said.
The daughter of actor Anil Kapoor then went on to bring the focus back on the Sooraj Barjatya's directorial, which brings a story of love and family values on the big screen.
"I think we should rest what we have to say at this point and talk about PRDP which is a film about love, tolerance, brothers and sisters," said the "Khoobsurat" actress.
Meanwhile, Sonam is excited for "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", which hinges on importance of family. It will release on November 12.
