  • Satinder Sartaaj Opens Up About His 'Dark' Role In 'The Black Prince'
Actor Satinder Sartaaj has spilled the beans on how he prepared for his 'dark and submissive' role for the film 'The Black Prince.'

While talking to media, the 35-year-old Punjabi Singer, who'll be playing the role of a Maharaja in the flick, said, "I was thrilled that I had to portray such big historic figure, but was not sure whether I'll be able to make my presence felt on the big screen."

He further revealed, "If you are Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, then your subtleness will be appreciated, but if you are a new actor, then people can question your talent. The character is very authoritative."

Speaking about the extra miles he had to go to bring in the perfection in his role, the singer said, "I took acting classes for the role in Mumbai and 90 percent of the shooting was done in England. I learnt the Victorian manners for the character, which is very dark, submissive and underplaying. And for a new actor, it was really difficult."

Talking about his co-star, the debutant said that Shabana Azmi is a big personality and "an institution in herself."

He added that despite her being such a big star, she didn't make him feel uncomfortable, rather taught him a thing or two.

The Hollywood flick is based on a true story of Maharaja Dalip Singh, is all set to hit the theaters on May 19
