  • Sanjay Dutt Enjoys Virtual Connect With Daughter Trishala, Bollywood Going Gaga Over Baba
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt celebrated his freedom from jail with his daughter Trishala, who is studying in the US, via the virtual medium.

Sanjay walked out of Yerwada Central Jail in Pune on Thursday morning as a free man after completing a jail term for possession of an assault rifle during the 1993 Mumbai riots. During the day, he met his family members, friends, fans and mediapersons. Later, Sanjay took time out to speak to Trishala -- his daughter with his first wife, late actress Richa Sharma.

Trishala shared her happiness on her father's freedom with an emotional message on the photo-sharing site Instagram, and welcomed her 'papa dukes' back home over a haircut session.

She even shared a snapshot of her video chat and captioned the image: "My papa dukes! love you."

She said: "Look at that smile! On the phone with daddy dearest, had to take him to get my hair done as well for our celebration! Hahaha Welcome Home Papa dukes! Selfie. I love you Sanjay Dutt."

The father-daughter bond had hit a rough patch earlier as Trishala didn't take the news of Sanjay getting married to Manyata, his third wife, very well. But they have resolved their differences, and moved on.

Several reports also claimed that Trishala, who was unable to be with Sanjay during this time due to studies, will be in Mumbai during her vacations.

Back home, Sanjay had Manyata and their twin children on his stride on his big day. And the whole of tinsel town was wrapped in the spirit of celebration as they welcomed 'Sanju Baba' back.

Sanjay got embroiled into legal trouble 23 years ago when he was found with an assault rifle reportedly linked to the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

DILIP KUMAR HAPPY TO LEARN ABOUT SANJAY DUTT'S RELEASE

Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, who shared "heartache" with late actor Sunil Dutt to sort issues when the "catastrophe of Sanjay Dutt's arrest hit the family", is happy that the "Munna Bhai" star has been released from prison.

Sanjay on Thursday stepped out from Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ) in Pune as a free man and returned to his home in Mumbai, finally ending 23 years of legal troubles that began when he was found with an assault rifle reportedly linked to the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

A message from Dilip Kumar's wife and yesteryear actress Saira Banu was shared on the former's Twitter handle on Friday.

It read: "Message from Saira Banu: Dilip Sahab is happy to learn about Sanjay's release. I recall the endless times Sb. spent with Sunil Dutt sahab...when they both burnt the midnight lamp and shared heartache to sort issues when the catastrophe of Sanjay's arrest hit the family."

Sanjay spent 18 months in jail as an undertrial before he was granted bail. Later, after a Supreme Court order in May 2013, he was sent to the YCJ to serve the remaining 42 months of his five-year sentence.

SANJAY DUTT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING: KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN

Actor Sanjay Dutt, who came out of prison after serving his term in the Yerawada jail, looked 'absolutely amazing', actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has said.

"Of course, we are all very happy. I saw a picture someone showed me, and he is looking absolutely amazing. We're really looking forward to seeing Sanjuji back on the big screen because I'm a big fan of Sanjay Dutt," said Kareena as an ambassador at the launch of Magnum Brownie flavour of the Magnum ice-cream.

While Kareena and Sanjay only acted in 'LOC Kargil', her sister Karisma has starred in a numerous movies with him.

Sanjay served his term for illegal possession of arms, for which he was charged under the Arms Act and given a five-year sentence.

After numerous court proceedings, jail terms and bails going on since 1993, he finally surrendered to the police in May 2013.

The actor was released Thursday morning for conducting a good behaviour in the prison.

Post his release, Sanjay Dutt was greeted with a great response by his fans. The industry too conveyed its feelings and welcomed Sanjay.

About the chocolate ice-cream brand and its new flavour, Kareena said: "I'm a chocolate girl, there's something about chocolate that is extremely stylish. I love chocolate, and most girls like to be pampered with it, especially a chocolate brownie ice-cream."

"Once in a while to indulge, there is nothing wrong, it uplifts your mood, it is good for the skin and especially for the heart," the actress said.

"During school days, I would eat an ice-cream before reaching home from school. My mom would never allow me to eat it. Without telling mom, I'd keep my pocket money to buy an ice-cream, gobble it in the building before coming up in the lift," she said.

She also said that owing to her association with the brand, she gets free stock of the ice-cream in which her husband Saif Ali Khan indulges heavily, having two-three ice-creams at a time and 'putting on calories'.
