Salman's Lowest Eid Opening 'Tubelight' Is '2nd Highest Opener Of 2017'

  • Salman's Lowest Eid Opening 'Tubelight' Is '2nd Highest Opener Of 2017'

It may have taken the lowest opening for a Salman Khan movie that released around Eid in last 5 years, but 'Tubelight' has managed to gross Rs 21.15 crore on the opening day, becoming the second highest opener of 2017.

 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and posted the first day Box-Office collection of top five openers of 2017, in which 'Tubelight' has the second highest earning.

 

He Twitted, "Top 5 openers - 2017:

 

1 #Baahubali2 ? 41 cr

 

2 #Tubelight ? 21.15 cr

 

3 #Raees ? 20.42 cr

 

4 #JollyLLB2 ? 13.20 cr

 

5 #BKD ? 12.25 cr

However, in a follow-up tweet, he listed down Salman's last five releases in which 'Sultan' topped with an earning of Rs 36.54 crore on its opening day. The Trade analyst wrote,

 

Salman and Eid - Day 1...

 

2012: #ETT 32.93 cr

 

2014: #Kick 26.40 cr

 

2015: #BB 27.25 cr

 

2016: #Sultan 36.54 cr

 

2017: #Tubelight 21.15 cr"

 
 

Bollywood's dabangg star's ' Tubelight' has received a mixed response from the film critics and audience so far and is set against the backdrop of 1962 Sino-Indian war.

 

The movie also stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, late actor Om Puri and child artist Matin Rey.

 

Shah Rukh Khan makes a special appearance in the film.
