Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Saturday reached Manali in Himachal Pradesh for the shooting of Kabir Khan's movie "Tubelight", an official said.
Besides shooting at Naggar, known for its quaint old houses, the film will have scenes of the majestic Rohtang Pass, the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti, and Solang Nullah, a government official told IANS.
He said the film crew would stay here for four weeks.
Earlier, the second schedule of "Tubelight" was to begin in the Kashmir Valley, but it was deferred owing to prevailing unrest there, an insider said.
In July, the film was shot in Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.
A large crowd gathered at Bhuntar airport near Kullu town to receive Salman, who was wearing a Himachali cap.
Salman's younger sister Arpita Khan is married in Mandi town, just 108 km from here.
In May last year, Salman and his family visited Mandi, the hometown of his sister's husband Aayush Sharma, for the first time to attend "dham", a traditional community feast being organised by state Rural Development Minister Anil Sharma to felicitate his daughter-in-law and son.
Arpita married Aayush, the grandson of former telecom minister Sukhram, on November 18, 2014.
