Yesteryear actress-singer Salma Agha, who has showcased her versatility in films, is all set to make her debut on the small screen with upcoming finite series “Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai”.
 
Salma, best known for her roles in films like “Nikaah”, “Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki” and “Pati Patni Aur Tawaif”, will star in the show alongside Amrita Roa, Deepti Naval, Zarina Wahab and Pallavi Joshi amongst others.
 
She will be seen essaying the role of a famous singer Nayantara Devi. 
 
“After years of people approaching me, I feel content and confident about this show. The character of Nayantara Devi appealed to me the most because of the dignity and grace with which it has been written,” Salma said in a statement.
 
“I was completely smitten by the character and it is the closest to my heart. Nayantara Devi is a highly accomplished singer and plays an important role in shaping the life of the protagonist Kalyani. 
 
“I had been extremely busy with music till now, travelling the world for my shows but it will be great resuming back to the world of acting with an inspiring character to play,” she added.
 
Salma is known for singing songs like “Dil ke armaan aansuon mein”, “Ae mere mehboob” and “Jeena bhi kya hai jeena”.
 
“Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai” will be aired on &TV.
