Sajid Khan helps Tamannaah host a scene

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 20 May, 2014 12:56 PM
  • Sajid Khan helps Tamannaah host a scene
Filmmaker Sajid Khan helped model-turned-actress Tamannaah Bhatia shoot a scene for his upcoming next film "Humshakals".

Tamannaah plays a VJ (Video Jockey) in "Humshakals" and she got stuck enacting a scene that required her to address a huge crowd. She wasn't confident doing it in front of a huge crowd, so Sajid helped her get the correct body posture and diction to play the perfect host.

"Tamannaah was a little scared and didn’t know how to execute the scene and make it look real on screen. So I showed her how to do it in terms of holding the mike and getting the right diction. I discovered the phrase ‘host and dost’ when I used to host shows earlier,” Sajid, who hosted TV talk show "Sajid's Superstars", said in a statement.

“Having been a host, I know how difficult it is to keep the audience entertained. In a way, it helped me impart knowledge to her and she picked it well. When you watch the scene, you will feel like you’re watching a professional host. I enacted the scene in front of her and she copied me exactly,” added the 42-year-old.

"Humshakals" stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor and Bipasha Basu among others. It will come out June 20.

I wonder why filmmakers shy away from narrating tales about elderly people with senior actors in the lead roles. Well-narrated stories revolving around ripe old age have takers, but such efforts are few and far between.
