Kareena and Saif Ali Khan recently welcomed their baby boy, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. With this good news, they sadly missed their annual holiday to Gstaad this year. Every year since Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have been together, their annual year-end holidays have been to the snow-capped sanctuary of Gstaad in Switzerland. 
 
Kareena finds the place very romantic; in fact, she loves Gstaad so much that she has made Saif promise that he would take her there every single year for the rest of their lives. They stay in the same place every year, visit the same love-nests and play all their favourite sports. Kareena doesn't like any change in this annual routine, Saif, on his part, has been making sure that he sticks to his commitment. But unfortunately, this year the couple was unable to take their annual break. 
 
Picturesque Gstaad, known for its luxurious ski resorts . top hotels, gourmet restaurants, luxury chalets, ski resorts and nearby Saanen airport, car-free Gstaad is also a popular destination for international celebrities like Julie Andrews, Elizabeth Taylor, Roger Moore and Prince Charles and Princess Diana. 
 
This wide-open countryside offers versatile and diverse sports programmes in both summer and winter: In summer, there is hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and golf. The summer toboggan and the Lake Lauenen (nature's paradise) are ideal excursion destinations for families. In winter of course there is skiing, snowboarding, snowshoewalking, tobigganing and the apres ski parties where one can have fondue and gluh wine.
 
 
In recent years, the centre of Gstaad has developed into the most popular and shortest "shopping mile" in Switzerland. Additionally, it is also one of the most scenic places of Switzerland. It is believed that Yash Chopra visited Gstaad for his own honeymoon and fell in love with the beauty of the region.
 
Gstaad is one of the most attractive holiday regions in the Swiss alps for family, skiing, hiking, biking & vacations. After all, for decades, Indian directors have been coming to Switzerland to film towns like Gstaad as the backdrop to their elaborate dream sequences. And over the years, film fans have followed too. This reflects in the Gstaad motto: Come up, slow down.
