"It was in my mind to make such proper wedding based movie, basically showcasing 1990s romance, which is nowadays hard to see. It's a happy mode movie, which is full of Punjabi traditions and culture. It is a family film," Gippy, who has written, produced and acted in the movie, said in a statement.

Directed by Baljit Singh Deo, "Manje Bistre" also features actors Sonam Bajwa, Karamjit Anmol and Jaggi Singh.

Talking about her role, Sonam said: "My character Rano is full with exposure of the 1990s girl, where she is homely, and on the other, she is confident and cute too. As per my experience, I am really glad to be the part of this movie."
