Rihanna's 'Jaws' Fear

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Feb, 2015 01:57 PM
Singer Rihanna was so scared of sharks after watching horror film “Jaws” as a youngster that she used to take “months off” from going to the beach.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in its March 2015 edition, the 26-year-old confessed that she was afraid of going into water because she believed it was infested with sharks. She grew up watching the horror film franchise, but when she would brave the waters, her father would hum the picture's tune to scare her, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

When asked if she watched the film as a child, Rihanna said: “It freaked me out because I was a beach baby, so every time a new 'Jaws' came out I would take months off from the beach or just sit on the sand.

“If I happened to get in the water, my dad would hum the theme music, and I was right back out of it. But that was really my fault because I was obsessed with 'Jaws'. Steven Spielberg was my childhood hero.”
