Reality Based Films Are Not Dry Films: Prachi Desai

IANS, 11 May, 2016 12:45 PM
Actress Prachi Desai, who will next be seen in “Azhar”, a movie based on the life of Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, says that reality based films are not dry films as they are very dramatised.

As many people watch films to escape the reality in life for a while, Prachi, who has films like “Rock On!”, “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai” and “ Bol Bachchan” to her credit, believes that reality based films are for everyone as they have reality as well as drama.

“I dont think reality based films are dry films. I think they are very dramatised, give a very cinematically great experience. For example there is a certain audience like our parents' generation where there will be different expectations as they have followed Azhar's work since long (in the film 'Azhar'),” Prachi told IANS.

“It will stay true to them but for our generation, we only knew about him after we grew up, yes you can escape from reality but then you can connect on real level as well, it will balance. They are for everyone,” the 27-year-old added.

"Azhar" will narrate the highs and lows of Azharuddin's life as the captain of the Indian cricket team for most of the 1990s, being tainted by a match-fixing scandal in 2000, and getting banned for life.

Àctor Emraan Hashmi will be seen playing the titular role in the film, which also stars Prachi, Nargis Fakhri, Lara Dutta among others.

Directed by Tony D'Souza, "Azhar", which is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Pictures, is set to release on Friday.
