Ranbir Has His Heart In The Right Place, Says Deepika

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 Nov, 2015 12:37 PM
No, it's nothing about his love affair! But Ranbir Kapoor's former lady love Deepika Padukone is quick to defend the actor on his box office failures, saying he always delivers his best because his heart lies in his work.

Ranbir's past few films, including "Besharam", "Roy" and "Bombay Velvet" failed to entertain or grip the audience despite his talent and charm.

While Ranbir admits he has the desire to "prove" himself "again", Deepika says "there's nothing to prove" when it comes to an actor as talented as him.

"Every individual goes through ups and downs. The intention is never to make a flop film... I haven't come across anyone more passionate about films and acting. The intention is always in the right direction, his heart is in the right place," Deepika said here during an interaction.

She added: "It's just that sometime and somewhere the execution goes wrong, sometimes maybe the way the script is interpreted by a director doesn't work, or maybe sometimes the story is not relevant at a certain point.

"So for various reasons, a film may not click at one point. For that, you can't question his intention or talent. He should be given a fair chance... irrespective of anything,"

The duo, whose onscreen chemistry has oft been compared to the popularity of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, have teamed up for the third time for "Tamasha". Earlier they have starred in "Bachna Ae Haseeno" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

"Tamasha" is directed by Imtiaz Ali, and it comes across as a film that the youth will connect to. Needless to say, Deepika and Ranbir seem to share a crackling camaraderie on the screen again, and they are only glad to work with each other once more.

Ranbir, who is now dating actress Katrina Kaif, said he hopes he gets to do more and frequent films with Deepika.

The duo was here for a Diwali meet and greet with media persons.
