Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra feels encouraged by 'Mirzya' logo praise

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 Dec, 2015 02:02 PM
Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra says he feels encouraged by the response that the logo teaser of his next film, "Mirzya" has generated.

"Overall, people have tremendously praised it (the logo teaser) and have liked it. This definitely provides an encouragement. It seems that the hard work done on it by everyone has come across successfully," Mehra said at a special screening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" here on Wednesday.

Some of the biggest names in the industry have applauded the logo launch video on social media.

Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Sonam Kapoor had heaped praise on the teaser on Twitter.

The film stars actor-producer Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor and actress Tanvi Azmi's niece Saiyami Kher. The film is reportedly based on the Mirza Sahiban story from Punjab.

When asked about the genre of the film, Mehra replied: "It's difficult (to describe)... it's a romantic film, it has tragedy and action."

Produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Pictures and Cinestaan Film Company, the film will hit the screens in 2016
