Priyanka Chopra Wins Best India Act Award At 2015 MTV EMAs

    Indian actress-singer Priyanka Chopra has emerged victorious in the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards' Best India Act category.
     
    Scores of music fans voted for the "Quantico" star, who received enough votes to beat the competitors, including other artists like Indus Creed, Monica Dogra, Your Chin and The Ska Vengers.
     
    Priyanka will now go up against the winning act from Africa to be named Worldwide Act: Africa/India.
     
    Commenting on this win, Ferzad Palia, executive vice president and head, English entertainment channel Viacom18, said in a statement: "Priyanka Chopra today has a huge fan base, both national and international. Her road to success and fame has been filled with numerous milestones and we are proud that she has won this category at the Europe Music Awards 2015, now let's help her get the Worldwide Act trophy home. Let's get voting."
     
    Voting is now open on MTV EMA's website and will continue till October 24.
     
    The awards night will be hosted by singer Ed Sheeran and model Ruby Rose. It will take place at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan on October 26 and will be aired on VH1 India. 
     
    Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tori Kelly, James Bay, among other stars, will perform at the event.
