Porn Ban: Kangana, Imran Say It's Futile Exercise

Darpan News Desk IANS, 05 Aug, 2015 12:26 PM
Bollywood stars Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan, who play the lead in Nikhil Advani's upcoming romantic comedy "Katti Batti", say banning pornography was a "futile exercise at best" as people who want to watch it will watch it.

Imran Khan, who will be back on the silver screen after a long gap, chuckled at the situation this ban will create.

"Banning pornography is a futile exercise at best. It is not possible to ban porn. People, who want to watch it, will watch it! Pretty soon, there will be a huge black market for it and people will be selling it illegally. So you are creating new opportunities for new criminals," he said.

"Queen" actress Kangana Ranaut, who is paired for the first time with Imran Khan, agreed with her co-star.

"Each to his own, every individual can take his own call and I agree with what Imran has to say," said Kangana.

Director Nikhil Advani added: "I don't think anything should be banned. It is a democratic society, and I think people can take their own decision.

"Whether it is porn ban or censorship, I can look after my own children, I can look after my own family. I can tell them what is good or bad, so I don't need the government to tell me what to do."

"Katti Batti" is scheduled for release on September 18.
