  • Police Refers Dowry Dispute Involving Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Family For Mediation
Police have referred the dowry case between film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's sister-in-law and his family members to mediation for resolution of the matter.

Afrin, wife of Minazuddin, brother of Nawazuddin, on September 30 had alleged that her husband, brothers-in-law Nawazuddin, Faizuddin, Majuddin and sister-in-law Saima were harassing her for dowry, while the actor has refuted the allegation saying she has done it for publicity.

The matter has been referred for mediation and both the parties have been asked to appear in women police station for resolving the dispute, SSP Deepak Kumar said.

If both the parties fail to resolve the dispute then police will take legal action, he said.

Police have not yet registered any case in the matter.

The 42-year-old film actor, who has come under the scrutiny for reportedly harassing his younger brother's wife on September 28, claimed she has deliberately charged him with the allegations because he appeared to be a "soft target" to her.
