Christmas and New Year season seems to have spelled magic for Aamir Khan's latest release “PK” as the movie is doing phenomenally well not only in India but in the international market too.
 
Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films, in association with Disney India, released "PK" Dec 19 and since then it has been soaring high at the box office both in India and abroad.
 
"PK has performed exceptionally well in India and many international markets, and with each day of its theatrical run, the movie is setting new benchmarks in many countries! Our distribution strategy ensured a wide availability for the movie across countries in all key centres. 
 
“The film has performed phenomenally well - and is now the highest grossing Hindi film ever in its first week in India, North America, Australia and many more. Most importantly, the movie has seen an unprecedented growth trajectory. The occupancy rates in most theatres all over have been very encouraging. We look forward to a long theatrical run for the movie!," said Amrita Pandey, VP and Head of Marketing and Distribution, Studios, Disney India.
 
Back home, “PK” has collected Rs.182.58 crore in the first week. On Christmas Day itself, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial collected Rs.27.55 crore in India. 
 
The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt.
