People Who Spread Terrorism Have Nothing To Do With Religion: Aamir Khan

IANS, 07 Jul, 2016 01:44 PM
  • People Who Spread Terrorism Have Nothing To Do With Religion: Aamir Khan
Actor Aamir Khan, who was seen celebrating the Eid with his mother on Thursday, said that people who spread terrorism or indulge in terror acts have no connection with mazhab (religion).

Asked to comment on the spate of terrorist activities around the world which have been given a religion colour, the actor said: "People who spread terrorism or do it, have no connection with mazhab (religion), that's what I think. Then whether he is of any religion, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian..."

He added, "However much they say that they are doing it for religion, they have no relation with religion because if they actually followed it, (they will know) mazhab teaches us love."

To a question whether controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik should be banned, Aamir said: "I won't comment on that. I have said what I want to."

Asked how he celebrated Eid, Aamir said: "On Eid I meet my family, spent time with them. When I was small I was interested in Eidi."

"Kiran and Azaad are not here, they have gone to Europe on a holiday. I give Azaad only Rs 2 Eidi, so that he doesn't get spoiled (Zyada bigaadna nahi hai)," he added.

'SULTAN' IS EID GIFT FROM SALMAN: AAMIR KHAN

Superstar Aamir Khan has praised Salman Khan for his latest film "Sultan", saying that the "Eid gift" has everything that one can expect from a mainstream movie. He has also said that "Sultan" can break the record of his own 2014 blockbuster "PK".

"I watched 'Sultan' last evening (Wednesday). I found it very good. Ali Abbas Zafar has made a remarkable film. Be it the story, screenplay, dialogue or direction, all are good and every artiste has done well," Aamir told reporters while celebrating Eid with his family.

He added: "Everything is there... what we expect from a mainstream film. I laughed, I cried and enjoyed a lot. It's an Eid gift from Salman. If there is one film which can break the record of 'PK', it is 'Sultan'."

The Yash Raj Films production, which released on Wednesday, earned Rs 36.54 crore on the opening day.

It features Salman in the role of a wrestler.

Did Aamir speak to Salman?

"He wasn't there. But I was in touch with Salman throughout the film. He was happy that I liked it. It is an outstanding film. He has performed so well, done everything which we expect from a star and as well as a good artiste. Songs and romance are beautiful," he said.
