People Love Me For Making Them Laugh: Kapil Sharma

Darpan News Desk IANS, 23 Sep, 2015 11:11 AM
  • People Love Me For Making Them Laugh: Kapil Sharma
Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is making his acting debut with the film "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon", says he is venturing into Bollywood with a comedy film because people love him for spreading laughter.

Kapil was in the capital on Tuesday for a promotional event for his film.

When asked that at a time when movies with realistic themes are finding fans, where do comedy films stand, Kapil told IANS: "If you talk about realistic films...there are many films with such concepts and there are many films that have been made in the concept of social issues...But, everyone wants to laugh in today's date.

"When you go for a comedy film, there is this guarantee that you will laugh...I think people always wait for comedy."

The star comedian, who found fame with his TV show "Comedy Nights With Kapil", says he has given his best to his debut vehicle in Bollywood.

"I think good comedy films are less now, and since it is my first film, I did not want to be a saint or behave like a politician... People love me for making them laugh so that is what I wanted to do and have done in the film," Kapil said.

In the film, directed by Abbas-Mustan, Kapil will be seen romancing as many as four actresses -- Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokurwords -- but in real life, is he ready to tie the knot?

"I really do not know...ask me if I want to do other films, I can still answer that. But about marriage, only god will fix it, and can make it happen whenever he (god) wants," he added.
