No Place For Discrimination In Bollywood, Says Salim Khan

  • No Place For Discrimination In Bollywood, Says Salim Khan
Renowned screenwriter Salim Khan says that there is no place for discrimination on the basis of language, religion, cast and creed in Bollywood.

"Film industry divided? No way. Film industry is the one place where there is no place for discrimination on the basis of language, religion, caste and creed," the father of superstar Salman Khan tweeted on Wednesday.

The 80-year-old veteran says that talent and capability" are what work.

"This is true from the time of Dada Saheb Phalke till date," he added.

Salim also shared that there are some Bollywood celebrities who have "aligned themselves to political parties for personal gain. And yes, we are a happy lot. If our films work, we are happy and if a rival's film flops, we are happy too. And we live happily ever after. The end".

Salim's comments come after filmmaker Karan Johar's forthcoming film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" was targeted by certain groups for featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

After the September 18 Uri attack which killed 19 Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir, ties between India and Pakistan have worsened.
