Never Felt Like An Outsider: Jacqueline Fernandez

IANS, 02 Aug, 2016 01:45 PM
She stepped into tinsel town in 2009 with "Aladin" and she has been on a roll in Bollywood ever since. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez says she was welcomed into the Hindi film industry "very warmly" and was never made to feel like an outsider.

Asked if she ever felt like an outsider, Jacqueline told IANS over phone from Mumbai: "Really strangely, I never did (feel like an oustider) because I was welcomed very warmly. I was never really made to feel like an outsider."

But the 30-year-old says she did face language issues initially.

"Initially, I had the language problem but that kind of got worked on and people were too very supportive of it and very understanding about it as well," added the actress, who was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka in 2006.

Jacqueline, in her seven years in Bollywood, has worked with celebrities like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. "It's been great," she says.

"I have met some really amazing people along the way who have really kind of helped me in this journey. Without them, none of this would have been possible," said the actress, who is currently judging the ninth season of celebrity dance-based show "Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa" on Colors channel.

The actress was recently seen in Rohit Dhawan's action adventure film "Dishoom", which also stars actors Varun Dhawan and John Abraham. She will also be seen in choreographer-director Remo D'souza's upcoming superhero film "A Flying Jatt".
