  • Monica thrilled with 'The Spectacular Jihad of Taz Rahim' success in US
Actress-singer Monica Dogra is beaming with joy at the response to her latest release "The Spectacular Jihad of Taz Rahim” in the US.

"The response has been overwhelming. Now I'm excited about the India release, hoping people like it as much as they have there,” Monica said in a statement.

Monica is now looking forward to the film's release in India on June 26.

Directed by Raghav Murali, the Indo-American film stars Bangladeshi actor Rahsaan Islam in the lead opposite Monica, who essays a journalist in the film.

The film tells the story of Taz (Rahsaan), a rapper who is blackmailed to become an undercover agent by the New York Police Department (NYPD). It is loosely inspired by real-life incidents of NYPD, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Central Intelligence Agency's use of Muslim informants.

Monica has also starred in movies such as “Rock On!!” and “Dhobi Ghat”.
